History
The Pinckney Neighborhood is one of the oldest
in the city. It bears the former name of 6th
Street. Until 1912, 6th Street was named Pinckney
Street after a Revolutionary War Hero. It covers
the area from the Kaw to Iowa Street/Mcdonald
Drive, 6th Street to I-70.
As time allows, a more extensive history will be
provided on our History
page
The Pinckney Neighborhood Walking Tour starts
at Constant Park at the corner of 6th and Tennessee
and continues west to Illinois. An online
interactive tour is being designed and will
be available shortly.
